This community event is being hosted by the District Office of State Representative Will Guzzardi, the Chicago Park District and HNA. In partnership with various community leaders, organizations and businesses, we will be hosting an outdoor market and providing free backpacks, school supplies, produce, haircuts, health resources, and services to families as they prepare for the new school year. LOADING YOUR MERCHANDISE INTO THE PARK // TRANSPORTANDO SU MERCANCÍA AL PARQUE

The Westbound one-way section of Wrightwood Ave on the south end of the park will be blocked off with barricades. You may load your merchandise by parking on the eastbound one-way lanes, or if there is parking on Kostner. Please do not block any intersections, crosswalks or you will get a ticket. // La sección de dirección única oeste de Wrightwood Ave en el extremo sur del parque estará bloqueada con barricadas. Puedes cargar tu mercancía estacionando en los carriles de dirección única hacia el este, o si hay estacionamiento en Kostner. Por favor, no bloquees ninguna intersección, paso peatonal o recibirás una multa.

PARKING // ESTACIONAMIENTO

Vendor parking is available at Kelvyn Park High School parking lot behind the school enter on Altgeld (one way going west). // El estacionamiento para vendedores está disponible en el estacionamiento de la Escuela Secundaria Kelvyn Park, detrás de la escuela, entrando por Altgeld (dirección única hacia el oeste).

CHECKING IN (Required) // CHECK-IN (Requerido)

  • Look for the Hermosa Neighborhood Association table on the west side of the park near the playground. Check in begins no earlier than 8:30 AM, the Mercado opens at 10am. We will direct you to your table location after you check in. //

  • Busca la mesa de la Asociación de Vecinos de Hermosa en el lado oeste del parque, cerca del área de juegos. El check-in comienza no antes de las 8:30 AM, el Mercado abre a las 10am. Te indicaremos la ubicación de tu mesa después de que te registres.

CHECKING OUT (Required) // CHECK-OUT (Requerido)

  • Checkout starts at 1:30pm. If you need to leave earlier, please go to the HNA table and make arrangements. You must clean your area of all garbage, regardless if it is yours. If you rented a table, you must wipe down your rented table with disinfectant. 

  • El checkout comienza a la 1:30pm. Si necesitas irte antes, por favor dirígete a la mesa de HNA y haz los arreglos necesarios. Debes limpiar tu área de toda la basura, independientemente de si es tuya. Si alquilaste una mesa,  debes limpiar la mesa alquilada con desinfectante antes de hacer el checkout y devolverla.

 

VENDOR RULES AND RECOMMENDATIONS // REGLAS PARA PROVEEDORES Y RECOMENDACIONES 

  • Standard size tents are allowed (10x10) // Se permiten tiendas de tamaño estándar (10x10)

  • If you bring your own tables, the maximum is 3 in total to ensure fair space for other vendors // Si traes tus propias mesas, el máximo es de 3 en total para asegurar un espacio justo para otros proveedores

  • We will have trash bags but recommend you also bring your own trash bags for clean up around your area // Tendremos bolsas de basura, pero te recomendamos también traer tus propias bolsas para limpiar alrededor de tu área.

  • Business advertisement tools are allowed (banners, signs, etc) // Se permiten herramientas de publicidad para negocios (banners, letreros, etc.)

  • Cash: Bring change for 20’s. We will not have any change available // Efectivo: Lleva cambio para billetes de 20. No tendremos cambio disponible

  • ePayments: We suggest you make a sign of your Venmo, Zelle and/or Paypal to make it easier for customers to pay you // Pagos Electrónicos: Te sugerimos que pongas un letrero con tu Venmo, Zelle y/o Paypal para facilitar el pago a los clientes. 

  • Weather forecast: dress according to the day’s forecast // Pronóstico del Tiempo: Viste de acuerdo con el pronóstico del día 

  • Food + Water: Please bring your own water and refillable water bottle. There will be some snacks and water available inside the field house for volunteers, vendors and community partners. // Comida y Agua: Por favor traiga su propia agua y botella de agua reutilizable. Habrá algunos bocadillos y agua disponible dentro del centro comunitario para voluntarios, vendedores y socios comunitarios.

  • Bring something to cover your table in case of light rain // Protección contra la Lluvia: Lleva algo para cubrir tu mesa en caso de lluvia ligera

  • Bring your own hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes // Lleva tu propio desinfectante de manos y toallitas desinfectantes

  • Shopping bags: Bring your own bags for customer purchases // Bolsas de Compras: Trae tus propias bolsas para las compras de los clientes.

  • Restrooms are available inside the field house // Los baños están disponibles dentro del edificio del campo

  • This is a family friendly event so we must stress to act accordingly. NO DRINKING or SMOKING ALLOWED // Este es un evento familiar, así que debemos insistir en comportarnos de manera adecuada. NO SE PERMITE BEBER NI FUMAR

  • The event will go on rain or shine // El evento se llevará a cabo llueva o truene

  • You must take home everything you bring in and no dumping in park trash cans // Debes llevarte todo lo que traigas y no dejar basura en los botes del parque

PARK RULES // REGLAS DEL PARQUE

  • No selling of food unless already pre-approved and prepackaged // No se permite la venta de alimentos a menos que estén previamente aprobados y empaquetados

  • No selling Firearms // No se permite la venta de armas de fuego.

  • No political or religious propaganda // No se permite propaganda política ni religiosa 

  • No selling liquor or any illegal substances // No se permite la venta de licor ni de sustancias ilegales

  • No drinking alcohol or smoking // No se permite beber alcohol ni fumar

  • No dumping // No arrojar basura

  • Dogs must be on a leash // Los perros deben estar con correa

Any violations of the above rules or illegal activities will result in expulsion from the event // Cualquier violación de las reglas anteriores o actividades ilegales resultará en la expulsión del evento

Volunteer with us!

In order to make our event a success, we need three shifts of volunteers to help with a number of tasks such as setting up tables, checking-in attendees, passing out backpacks and supplies, and much more! Sign-up for volunteer shifts using the form below! Once you complete the form, 39th District staff will be in touch with additional details leading up to the event.
