Board Member ELIGIBILITY + Elections
The HNA will, remain a volunteer-based corporation for the intent and purposes of electing a board of directors.
Directors of HNA are those who:
Share a commitment to the values espoused in the organization’s mission statement
Live, and/or own property, and/or own businesses, in the boundaries of Chicago
Have regularly volunteered at community events or have participated in one of our committees
Plan to join at least 1 committee
Attend monthly HNA board meetings and community meetings per year
Each Elected Director shall serve a one (1) year term beginning on the 1st of the year. Elected Director terms shall be staggered into Executive Directors (made up of four (4) Elected Directors) and additional Directors (made up of up to six (6) Elected Directors). The board can appoint up to three (3) appointed board members who do not have to meet any of the above criteria of membership.
