HNA has won another grant with Openlands to plant over 40 trees in Hermosa! The tree planting will occur THIS Saturday! Furthermore, this tree planting will also double as a school beautification project. Cool!

Activities include but are not limited to planting, watering, and mulching trees. Planting will occur around Kelvyn Park and nearby residential streets, including:

• 15 trees on Parker Ave

• 21 on Kilbourn Ave

• 6 throughout the rest of the neighborhood

The tree planting will begin promptly at 9:00am at Kelvyn Park. We will meet up at northwest corner (N Kilbourn Ave and W Parker Ave ) of the park at 8:45am for a tree planting orientation.  This event will occur rain or shine. 

In total, there will be up to 50 National Honors Society students from Kelvyn Park High and around 80 college students from Michigan State University on hand to help. With the planting and the school beatification projects. 

At Kelvyn Park School the following projects will take place: 

• Organize the book room

• Paint Hallways (touch ups)

• Hang College pennants / inspirational quotes

• Reshelf the books in the library

• Zipline/clean lockers

• Update bulletin boards (1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor)
